Top 21 Free Australia Business Listing Site List | Best 20+ Free Business Listing Sites Of Australia | Australia Local Business Listing Sites 2017

Top 21 Free Australia Business Listing Site List | Best 20+ Free Business Listing Sites Of Australia:

Google’s users (and your potential customers) are constantly searching for local businesses. Google knows this and gives a higher ranking to businesses that can indicate to Google they are both relevant and local. Google’s algorithm changes have really emphasised this, so search results that were once very similar Australia wide, are now quite varied in different locations (ie Melbourne vs Brisbane).
Best Australian Business Directories
There are a number of local SEO (Search engine optimisation) strategies to drive more targeted visitors to your website.

They are all important, but one of the biggest local search boosts comes from local Australian business directorylistings.
Australian business directories are not just for driving search traffic, they can also provide referral traffic from people clicking through from your listing.
So time to start finding Australian directories and submitting your business right?
Wait! Before you start submitting your business there’s a couple of things to get in order.

How do I find the best Australia Business Directories?

You’ll come across directory lists or submission services offering 50, 100 or even 250 Australian business directory websites. The best they will do is waste your time or worse, damage your Google ranking. Here’s why.
  • They are often scraped from old outdated lists
  • They contain directories requiring payment, or a reciprocal link
  • They haven’t actually been tested so many directories have broken forms or are abandoned
  • The websites are just rubbish with no backlink value
I recently audited our directory list and reviewed as many others as I could find. After weeding out all the Australian business directories that failed the tests above, I took one more step to ensure the remaining websites had real traffic value.

What is Alexa Ranking?

Alexa is a website that ranks the top visited websites worldwide. They also provide an estimate of a websites popularity in a specific country (using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews). After filtering the list of business directories according to Australian Alexa Ranking, and removing any not in the top 25,000 Australian websites, we have our list!

Prepare your business listing information.
Directory submissions involve entering the same information repeatedly so it’s best to be prepared to avoid wasting a lot of time. Gather the following information into one document:
  • 2-3 Business listing titles
  • Submission email address
  • Business contact email address
  • Business phone number
  • Social media links
  • 2-3 unique business descriptions (Typically 200 words max)
  • Square logo image (300px is best viewed on most websites)
  • 5 business related images
  • Business ABN
Having this data on hand to copy information will make the process much faster.

Directory submission tools

Automatically submitting business listings is a nice idea but doesn’t work well in practice. Different directories are built on different platforms and have unique fields and customization. Some even have hidden fields to trick these submission tools. This means the listings either fail or have missing or incorrect information.
A semi-automatic approach is best. Try using a auto complete tool like the JunkFill chrome extension to assist with form completion, and then manually review the fields.

Directory Submission Tips

Here’s a few bonus tips for getting the most from your Australian directory submissions.
  • Search each directory for the business name and url to ensure no duplicate listings are created.
  • Use consistent login details for easy followup.
  • Make listings as complete as possible to maximize value.
  • Vary titles and descriptions to create a unique listing.
  • Use a dedicated email to separate confirmation & marketing emails from personal email.
  • Expect a few phone calls from directories upselling premium listings.
  • Check for confirmation emails immediately and after 5 days.
Lastly don’t forget to ask your clients to give a review of your product or service on the directories to boost your profile, referral traffic and backlink value! If you find more Australian business directories that pass the tests above let me know in the comments.

Singapore Business Listing Sites | Free Local Singapore Business Listing Site 2017 | Top 18 Free Best Singapore Business Directories Sites

Free Local Singapore Business Listing Site 2017:

Here are the 18 best Singapore business directories to get listed on. These are (mostly) free channels to get traffic and links that new websites should definitely leverage on.

What’s an online business directory?

An online business directory is a website that contains listings of businesses categorised into their respective business activities. Most directories will provide details of a business such as name, address, contact information, and a link to the business website. Think of it like an online Yellow Pages for businesses.
Although directories do not hold as much authority as they did in the past (most directories today are just filled with junk links), there are still some benefits to getting listing on a Singapore business directory.
  • Most consumers prefer the use of search engines to find a local business, but there are businesses who use directories to locate all businesses in a given industry. Traffic from directories are thus highly targeted.
  • Most Singapore business directories are human edited, and there is a level of editorial discretion for submissions. Thus, these directories have higher trust and authority than your average web directory.
  • You can get some relevant links from local directories related to your niche quite easily. Perfect for a new website’s early link building strategy.

What you need to know first.

I’ve arranged this list according to Domain Authority (DA), which is a metric developed by the people at Moz. Basically, higher DA score = higher trust and authority score given to the domain on a whole.
Google PageRank (PR) is also given. It’s a score (out of ten) given by Google to websites to mainly judge the importance of a website based on quality of links. It can be outdated, and it isn’t as highly regarded nowadays due to how easily it can be manipulated.
Alexa Ranking is a score given by web traffic company Alexa. It tries to rank websites on the internet based on traffic. The lower the number, the higher the traffic. Not very accurate, but useful as a gauge.
nofollow is a value that can be assigned to the rel attribute of a HTML link to instruct some search engines that the link should not influence the link target’s ranking in the search engine’s index. Basically, if it says Yes below, it means the link will not pass PR to your website. It’s recommended to get a good mix of follow and nofollow links.
pa stands for per annum, and ot stands for one-time. Personally, I’d advise against paying directories because the ROI is seldom worth it. You will notice that the price for a YellowPages listing is high, so you might want to avoid that if you have a limited marketing budget.

I hope this list has been helpful for you. If you know of any other high quality business directories that should be included, do tell me.

Extra notes for directory use

1. The cost, nofollow, PR, Alexa ,and DA figures are accurate on August 2014. These figures are known to change, so if you find any changes, feel free to let me know.
2. These are general business directories. You can find additional local web directories that are more closely related to your niche by searching [your niche] + [directory Singapore]. By warned though. While niche directories may be more relevant, a lot of them are very low quality and filled with spammy links. Some of them also require a monthly/yearly fee to remain listed – which I think is usually not worth it.
3. Links from directories are good-to-get links because they are quite contextual and mostly free. However, they should only form a small part of your overall link building strategy. Invest time and money into more organic link and content strategies for significant long term benefits.
